IT Asset Management
IT asset management (ITAM) is a systematic approach to tracking, managing, and optimizing an organization’s IT assets throughout their lifecycle. These assets can include hardware, software, networks, and data. The primary goals of IT asset management are to maximize the value of IT investments, ensure compliance with licensing agreements and regulatory requirements, and minimize risks associated with security and data breaches. A robust ITAM strategy involves inventorying and cataloging assets, monitoring their usage and performance, and implementing policies and procedures for their acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
